Minimal ingredients, minimal time, maximum flavor= homemade pumpkin butter. Spicing up your diet doesn’t have to be complicated. This flavorful pumpkin butter screams fall and comes together quickly, with minimal ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. You can easily elevate your toast, pancakes, or biscuits with it! It would be a great dip to add to your charcuterie boards or a great little gift to give this holiday season.
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 15 minutes mins
- 1 cup pure pumpkin
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup apple cider
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Place your pure pumpkin on a paper towel and gently wring out extra moisture. This step also allows you to cut down on the “cooking” time of this pumpkin butter since you are reducing the amount of liquid prior to heating.
Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and let it simmer on medium low heat for 15-20 minutes. You are looking for the liquid to simmer off and for the flavors to come together, so you’re left with a thick and creamy pumpkin butter. That’s it!
Optional: If can add your pumpkin butter to a blender or food processor to create an even creamier texture. Enjoy!
