Homemade Vegan Hot Chocolate
Thick, creamy, chocolatey…but healthy and nutritious! There is no refined sugar in this homemade VEGAN hot chocolate and it is PACKED with flavor. Blend fresh dates with some creamy coconut milk, cocoa powder, salt, cinnamon…You’ll never go back to the packet! This dairy free hot chocolate is a thing of beauty and you can taste the difference that the “real” ingredients make in elevating the flavor, texture and experience.
- 6 large pitted dates
- 2 cups coconut milk from a can
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Warm up your coconut milk until steaming. You don’t want it boiling hot, just a nice warm heat that is comfortable to drink.
Remove the pit from your dates: push your finger through the date and the pit will push out or slice them down the middle and remove the pit.
Add the dates, along with all the remaining ingredients in a blender and blend very well.
Pour into a mug and it’s perfect on its own, or feel free to top it with your favorite toppings.
