The Ingredients:
Here is the list of ingredients you will need for this air fryer peach crisp.
- Peaches: The star ingredient! Once you core the peaches, they make the perfect little crisp vessel, and have the sweetest flavor after baking.
- Brown Sugar: Brown sugar makes the crisp topping extra buttery and indulgent.
- Almond Flour: This grain-free flour makes up the crisp topping.
- Tapioca Flour: This grain-free flour helps absorb the butter and makes the perfect balance for the crisp topping.
- Gluten-Free Quick Oats: Oats are a quintessential crisp topping ingredient. If you cannot tolerate grains, you can eliminate them. I find substituting oats with a chopped nut helps achieve the crunchy crisp topping you know and love.
- Dairy-Free Butter: Any dairy-free butter should work seamlessly for this apple crisp recipe.
- Xanthan Gum: This is an agent used in gluten-free baking to help your baked goods maintain their texture so they don’t become overly crumbly.
- Baking Powder: The rising agent that aids in helping the crisp achieve the desired texture.
- Salt: For flavor balance!
- Cinnamon: Every crisp recipe needs a dash of cinnamon for warmth and flavor.
Step By Step Preparation Instructions:
Only 15 minutes stand between you and this super easy-to-make gluten-free (& dairy-free) peach crisp!
- Step 1: First, you need to core your peaches. Using a knife and cutting at an angle, cut a circle around the pit of the peach. Once you have made a complete circle, you should be able to pop the pit out. You want to keep most of the peach intact in order to not lose any flavor, so make you cut around as tightly as possible to the pit.
- Step 2: Now to make the crisp filling. Add all the dry ingredients to a bowl and mix well. Next, using a fork or pastry blender, cut the butter into the dry ingredients until it the dough starts to come together. It should be a crumbly, but slightly cohesive texture.
- Step 3: Generously spoon the crisp topping into the crevasse of each peach, gently packing it in. Place the filled peaches in the air fryer at 325 for 11-12 minutes. The topping should be crispy and golden, and the peaches should be nice and soft.
- Serving suggestion: Serve up with some dairy-free ice cream and my dairy free caramel sauce and you have the easiest, comforting dessert.
