Chili rubbed salmon conveniently cooked in the air-fryer, layered into grain-free taco shells and doused in a creamy, sweet sriracha aioli sauce.
The Story:
The sweet sriracha aioli takes these to the next level and is a MUST. It’s sweet and spicy and if it’s not dripping out when you take a bite…you’re doing it wrong. These air fryer salmon tacos are kept allergy friendly by using a grain-free taco shell and the sweet sriracha aioli is dairy free. This is a quick and easy, grain free meal idea that comes together in just 15 minutes, but still feels so rewarding. Taco Tuesday just got an upgrade! You can absolutely bake your salmon in the oven if you prefer, I just love the ease of the air fryer.

The Ingredients:
Here is the list of ingredients you will need for these air fryer salmon tacos with sriracha aioli:
- Salmon: You can use any kind of salmon you prefer. I buy these Kirkland Salmon Fillets from Costco and they work perfectly.
- Black Beans: Every good fish taco needs to have black beans…IMO. The black beans add protein and fiber and keep you feeling satisfied.
- Cabbage Slaw: A good crunchy slaw adds great texture and adds a boost of veggie goodness.
- Avocado: Every taco needs avocado. I don’t make the rules!
- Cilantro: I love adding fresh cilantro on top for an extra dose of flavor.
- Seasonings: Chili powder, paprika, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder and salt. These seasonings combined create the delicious spice rub for the salmon.
- Sriracha: One of the star ingredients! Sriracha has such a great flavor and a warm spicy kick to it. It balances out perfectly with the creamy mayo and the sweet honey.
- Mayonnaise: Mayo is the base of an aioli and is a genius concept. It’s such a delicious way to add a delicious sauce. The mayo also helps offset the heat and adds creamy deliciousness.
- Honey: The aioli is sweetened with honey. And feel free to pour more honey on top of the salmon. Not sure why it works, but it does!
- Hard Shell Tacos: My favorite grain-free taco shells come from the amazing Siete Foods. They have so many grain-free options and my favorite to use with these salmon tacos are their hard shell tacos.
Step By Step Preparation Instructions:
The process for making these air fryer salmon tacos is super easy and comes together in just 15 minutes!
- Step 1: Mix all the seasonings together. Pat your salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Drizzle the fillets with olive oil and rub each side to coat the fillet completely. Evenly sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the fillets on both sides, then squeeze lime juice over them. Place in the air fryer. Choose the bake setting at 325 and cook for 7 minutes. Then switch the setting to air fryer mode and continue to cook for 3 minutes. Remove the salmon and allow it to rest for a few minutes, then shred it.
- Step 2: While the salmon is cooking, do the prep work for the rest of the taco accoutrements. Slice all the toppings you would like to add, heat the black beans, and mix together the sriracha aioli. How to make sriracha aioli:
- Step 3: To prepare this sriracha aioli: In a small bowl, add mayo, sriracha and honey and mix well. If you’ve never had an aioli, you’re in for a treat!
- Step 4: Now to assemble the tacos. Heat up your taco shells or prepare your tortilla the way you enjoy best. First, add the salmon to the taco shell/tortilla, then the black beans. Next, smother the salmon and beans with the sriracha aioli. The way the aioli melts into the salmon and black beans is so delicious. Now, add on the cabbage slaw, avocado slices and cilantro. Squeeze a little lime over the top and drizzle on more aioli if you desire.
Recipe FAQ's:
- Can I prepare my salmon in the oven instead of the air fryer? Yes, absolutely! The salmon won’t have quite the same level as crisp to it, unless you have an air fryer setting or can broil the salmon for about a minute. I would do 350 in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until your desired level of doneness.
- Is this a healthy air fryer recipe? Everyone has a different definition of healthy and optimal health looks different for everyone. I consider this to be healthy because these grain free tacos contain no grains, dairy or gluten and is packed with whole, nutrient dense foods.
