This lavender creamer is a delightful and subtly flavored creamer to use in your hot or cold drinks this spring!

The Story:
This simple lavender creamer is a comforting, floral way to bring spring into your daily routine. Made with coconut milk and dried lavender, it’s dairy-free, naturally unsweetened, and a lovely way to add subtle flavor to your morning coffee or tea. I was originally going to create a simple syrup to share, but I have been intentional about reducing my sugar intake, and I don't normally add any sugar to my coffee, so I went this route and I am glad I did! You don't always need added ingredients to celebrate the flavors of season or shake up your routine. This creamer is an easy, allergy-friendly addition that feels a little extra, without any extra effort (or sugar).
You can use this creamer to make an iced lavender latte, or pair with these blackberry lavender scones for a special weekend brunch!

🧾 The Ingredients:
Only 2 ingredients are required to make this lavender creamer!
- Coconut Milk: For the best flavor and consistency, you will want to make this creamer with a canned coconut milk. Coconut milk from a carton is often very watered down and will not create the luscious creamer consistency you want for coffee creamer. If purchasing full fat coconut milk, add about ½ cup of water when preparing this creamer to achieve the correct pourable creamer consistency.
- Lavender: I used whole lavender flowers for this. You could use paste, or extract, but each of those will yield slightly different outcomes.

Step By Step Preparation Instructions:
This creamer comes together very easily and quickly, and is great when prepped ahead of time to have on hand when you get a craving!
- Step 1: Simply add the coconut milk and whole lavender flowers to a saucepan, and heat over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the milk has taken on the flavor of lavender. The longer you let it heat, the more flavor it will impart. If you steep if for too long, it can take on a slightly medicinal taste, so taste test as you go to ensure it is to your liking.
- Step 2: Next, strain out the lavender, then let the creamer cool in the refrigerator until you are ready to use! That's it! You can use this in tea, coffee, or even in a spring cocktail or mocktail!
